Well - if you don't this website isn't for you.
BUT - if you depend on your websites for PROFIT, read on...
Here's a story about one of my web sites:
As I write this letter, this is going back a couple of years...
I put together an eBook. It was a popular eBook - we were getting as good as one customer out of every 15 visitors.
A 6.5% conversion. Good, right?
So I agreed a joint venture with someone who had a large and well read ezine list. (This was before all the filter and spam issues. Back then - ezines were actually read!)
Now - it was a Sunday night. The sales page was ready. And my JV partner sent out his endorsement.
And the visitors started flooding in.
And then quickly faded away.
What was happening??
I'll tell you what. My web site was down.
And it remained down for the next six hours. By the time Monday morning had come, I hadn't had much sleep, and was feeling very frustrated.
Well, by then most of people who were going to read the ezine had read it, clicked through to my page, and found the web site down.
I had been sending request after request to my web host, but their answer was pretty much "There's nothing we can do, except wait".
Not exactly helpful.
Well, that lost promotion taught me a very important lesson:
